Filomeno (a.k.a. Fil or Menong) was born on August 10, 1942 in Imus, Cavite, PHIL. After spending three years in Feati University in Manila studying Aeronautical Engineering, Fil faced a life altering decision. Understanding that it was for the greater good for his future, he wholeheartedly joined the US Navy in 1965. After serving 20 years, he retired from the Navy as a Chief in 1985. He then continued his work in logistics as a Government Service employee for 21 more years before finally retiring completely in 2006. While working as a GS employee, Fil found the time to complete his lifelong goal of obtaining a college degree when he graduated from National University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1992.
Outside of his career, Fil’s truly happy life began on June 29, 1968 when he married his one true love, Evelyn. A devoted husband and father, married for 56 years, he is survived by his wife and children, Robert and Robin. He was also the extremely proud grandfather of Robert’s son, Braeden, and Robin’s daughters, Riann and Riley. In addition to his immediate family, Fil leaves behind Jovy (his daughter-in-law), an incredible extended family including godchildren, and many dear friends. Everyone will miss Fil’s kindness, generosity, loyalty, love, and -- most importantly -- sage advice.
