

Grace Mary Michelson passed away at the age of 100 on September 7, 2025 in Oceanside, California. Grace was born in Pittsburg, California on October 12, 1924 to Josaphine and Julio Ruiz. Grace grew up in San Diego and attended Washington Elementary School and graduated from San Diego High School. She worked at Ryan Aeronautical Company during World War II. Grace married her Marine sweetheart, Irving “Bud” Jordan in 1946.
The couple moved to Lewiston, Idaho and had two sons, William “Bill” in 1947 and Julius in 1949. Julius passed away in 1966. Grace was a stay-at-home mom and began her work career when her sons began school. Grace loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and taught Sunday school, vacation Bible school and volunteered at Selway Bible Camp. When the boys entered school, Grace went to work as a school cook for the Lewiston Independent School District and later worked at the Idaho Department Store.
After a divorce Grace moved to San Diego where she later married Edward “Mike” Michelson. Grace worked at Buffums Department Store as a buyer before opening her own business. “Dance Time with Grace” was a successful business and a labor of love. Grace taught formal dance at the Elk’s Club in San Diego and in her own studio for many years. Grace traveled extensively and enjoyed time with family and friends.
Grace was preceded in death by Bud Jordan, Mike Michelson and son Julius Jordan.
Grace is survived by her sister Joanne Sheridan, her son Bill Jordan (Kathy), her grandchildren, Janelle Danielson (Sean), Bill Jordan, Julie Cox (Brett), Mike Gwinn (Sydni), Brian Gwinn, nephews Jay Ruiz, Basil Machado (Sarah), Jim Sheridan, Joe Sheridan and great grandchildren, and cousins.
Grace will be buried with her son, Julius Jordan, in Lewiston, Idaho.
