

Henry (Bud) Sandberg passed away peacefully at the age of 85 over Memorial Day weekend (May 25, 2013) at the Sharp Hospice house in La Mesa, CA with family at his side. He was a Navy veteran who served his country proudly for over 20 years. Bud was born on October 30, 1927 in Boston, MA, and spent his childhood and young adult years in Connecticut. Bud attended Rockville High School and during this time, met his future wife, Irene, and married on April 19, 1952. In 1959 they moved to the San Diego area and remained there since then.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Irene Sandberg; his son, Keith Sandberg and daughter-in-law, Kandy Sandberg; grandchildren Robert Mansfield, Sarah Rose, and Christopher Sandberg; and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Sandberg, and many nieces and nephews.
Bud enjoyed golfing, fishing, card games, and travelling on cruises. He was a generous man who genuinely cared for people and would do anything for them. He was always concerned about people and helped family and friends. He was a handy man around the house and was proficient in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
He will truly be missed.
His funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday (June 1, 2013) at Greenwood Mortuary, Salli Lynn Chapel, 4300 Imperial Ave, San Diego, CA 92110.
