After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Washington in Seattle, Jacques began his career in computer software programming and development. In 2011, his adventurous spirit led him to San Francisco, a city he loved and enjoyed immensely. After many years of contracting jobs in Seattle and San Francisco, Jacques began his full time position as a software engineer at Sequoia Capital in 2017.
Fiercely independent, adventurous, and unafraid only JUST begin to describe him. Jacques loved life! Fine dining, wine tasting (at his favorite wineries in CA and OR), pursuing outdoor activities with friends, family, and colleagues, and traveling within the U. S. and abroad are just a few of the pursuits that define his life. Determined not to let the cancer diagnosis dampen his zest for life, Jacques doubled down since 2019 and packed in as many adventurous trips as he could. Belize, the Maldives, Ecuador, Mexico, Hawaii, and Paris are just a few of his chosen destinations. His passions included kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkeling, skiing, golfing, biking, hiking, playing pickle ball, playing video games, and watching critically acclaimed movies! Many of his friends and family can easily vouch for his generous spirit that moved him to invite others on his many pursuits.
Jacques is survived and missed by his loving mother, Laju Nankani; father, Robert Crocker; younger sister Sakina Crocker, two cats, Harry and William; and a dog, Luna!
We hope many others who encountered Jacques in his life’s journey will be willing to share their memorable stories with us. If we continue to do that, he will never be forgotten.
