

Mr. James Alan Carlson, 58 of San Diego went into the loving arms of the Lord on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 6:27pm at Sharp’s Memorial Hospital surrounded by loving family after a valiant battle with cancer.
He was born on March 23, 1957 in Clearfield, Utah to Walter Theodore Carlson and Eleanor Darlene Dopp. Jim was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served a mission in North Carolina. He worked as a general laborer and plumber, but his passion was serving the Lord and others in need of a helping hand. He was a volunteer at Kearny Mesa Convalescent Hospital for 15 years and was awarded the “Adult Volunteer of the Year” in 2009 for his loving service to the elderly, which he truly enjoyed and missed when he become ill.
In March 17, 1981 Jim was married to Rebecca Dawn Jones in the Los Angeles Temple and they were blessed with two wonderful children Aharon Nicole (May 14, 1982) and Christopher Alan (May 14, 1985). After this union dissolved he married Eva Ann Maehren on June 10, 2000 in the San Diego Temple. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother, and many aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his Loving wife Eva Ann Carlson of San Diego; Children Aharon Nicole “Nikki” (Dustin) Yeager and Christopher Alan (Kimra) Carlson both of West Virginia; His father Walter Thoedore Carlson of Tempe, AZ; two sisters Barbara June Blakemore of Huntington, NC, Darla Cheri (Thomas) Raborn of Payson, UT; two Brothers Walter Dale (Anne) Carlson of San Diego, CA., Kenneth Gene (Jacqueline) of Chandler, AZ ; an uncle Leland Paul (Lee Ann) Dopp of Utah; and many nieces and nephews. Jim’s first grandson is expected in December,
Jim was loved by all he met and served. He always greeted everyone with a big smile and a handshake. Great life, Jim! Thumbs up!
