James Allen Croson

Jimmy started his life in Long Beach, California, but since his father was a career Navy Man, the family was eventually relocated to San Diego, Ca. Jimmy grew up in San Diego, graduated High School, enlisted in and served two years in the U.S. Coast Guard. While in the Coast Guard, Jimmy was stationed at Alameda Naval base. At that time, he met the love of his life Doris and they married in Hayward, CA., . They lived for a short time in Hayward, and once discharged from Military Service, Jimmy returned to San Diego with his wife. Unfortunately the marriage did not last and they divorced a number of years later.

After the passing of his mother, Angel, Jimmy moved to Baton Rouge, LA, to care for his Paternal Grandfather. While in Louisiana, Jimmy worked at Southern University as a Student Advisor. In 1991 Jimmy attended and graduated from The Christian Bible College of Baton Rouge. He graduated with a Masters One Degree. Jimmy was affiliated with St Mary Baptist Church and at one time, had a church and congregation to whom he preached and ministered. During his time there, Jimmy had a close and loving friendship with Ms Deandra Royal (DeeDee). A few of us came to know DeeDee through the many kind and loving comments he made about her, that he shared with us.

Jimmy enjoyed deep, meaningful religious discussions, music, fishing, BBQ'n. In his younger years, he liked to travel he enjoyed Good Food, liquor and just plain Fun and fellowship with his Family and a few friends.

Sadly Jimmy left us quite unexpectedly on or about September 1st, 2023. He leaves behind a BOAT LOAD of cousins and folks to remember and cherish his memory.
