I'll never forget Jim's kindness in helping us get acclimated to the area when I got transferred from Philadelphia to Camp Pendleton in 1980.  I know having her Uncle Jimmy so close by made the transition much easier for my wife (his niece Beth).  That sense of family made the separation from both of our families (hers in Wisconsin, mine in New Jersey) much more tolerable for us.

I knew him as a member of Blessed Sacrament, the Knights of Columbus, Bingo and  a friend.  He will be missed, but never forgotten.

We knew Jim through the Widow Widowers organization, He accompanied Pat to most of these meetings in the Senior Center in La Mesa where Pat volunteered and provided the services of a Facilitator of that organization. He was always supporting and backing up her activities in performing these obligations. They were both good people and assisted many of these people with the support that they required. He was a good man; only a good person would be so thoughtful in helping so many distraught people in their time of grieve. Thank you Jim for assisting Pat and the behind the scenes work in such a time of need.

Uncle Jimmy was a wonderful, caring uncle.  I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the Navy in San Diego, because I always had a home to go.  He will be missed.

As an old firefighter from NAS Miramar, I never stopped and thanked "Red" Stockfisch for all the years of Top Priority and Service that his Public Works Transportation Dept. provided to our fire department.

And this weekend, which is National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend and National Fire Prevention Week, I'll spend a moment in silence and pray for James Stockfisch, Family and Loveones.

Jim Stockfish was a wonderful man that we were deeply blessed to have known.His grandson Michael and my son Michael L. have been buddies for at least 12 years. Throughout this time Jim would include my son just as if he was his own grandson in many school funtions. He always greeted our family with open arms and a sweet smile.

It was our pleasure knowing you over the years. I always appreciated when you picked on my NY Yankees. Especially when you mailed me the headlines when they actually lost.

My son Jack really enjoyed playing with you and your trains back in May. 

That will always be how we remember you.

Uncle Jimmy was one of a kind.  I will always remember our brother Mike, pushing cousin John Edward down the sloping driveway in a radio flyer wagon gaining great momentum until he went over the embankment landing about 8 feet below in the back yard.  Uncle Jim just took it all in stride which was pretty amazing for having four daughters of his own.  They were wonderful times and memories in a wonderful era gone by.  My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.  We were truly blessed to have known you.  Another loving niece, Kathy

Uncle Jimmy was always there to put on one heck of a fine family get together while allowing all of the crazy cousins to go wild in his backyard. I'll always remember swinging in the backyard in the white swing that he built and playing with his old dog Blackie. That house that Uncle Jimmy continued to live in, reminds me of the many wonderful childhood memories of the hospitality he always showed to his nieces and nephews.  God Bless you Uncle Jim, you lived a blessed life and you deserved it!  Your niece, Lennie
