

James “Red” Stockfisch passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2010, at his home here in San Diego after 88 grand years of life. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on August 15, 1922. James first cam to San Diego as a young Marine, training at MCRD in September, 1942. He served in the Pacific, on the islnads of Midway and Engebi. He worked for 35 years at NAS Miramar and North Island, making many friends. In 1948 he married Kathleen Lapthorne (previousley deceased). He is also predeceased by his daughter Carol Bixby.
James leaves behind a beautiful, loving family, including his wife Patricia, and daughters Eileen Zajac, Patricia Harrison, and Joan Ebeling. Red was a long-time member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, serving as head usher for many years and supported the school through the Bingo group. He also served his faith through the Serra Club of San Diego.
A Rosary at 9:30 and Mass at 10 on Saturday at Blessed Sacrament.
