

Jeffery was the oldest of six siblings. She was raised on a farm with crops and livestock in her primary years. Jeffery made it know that she did not like doing farm chores. She was overjoyed when the family moved to Alameda, a small community on the shorelines of Oakland, California. Jeffery spent the rest of her adolescent and teen years there, where she graduated from Encinal High School.
She met and married the love of her life James Charles Veasley, a Navy serviceman. The family moved around several times until; they settling down in San Diego, California. She and her family joined New Corinthians Baptist Church in the 1960s and later joined Greater Life Church in the 1980s, where she once sang in the choir and was on the Mother's board.
In Jeffrey's younger days, she and her husband hosted couples parties, organized family camping trips, and hosted bi-weekly friends night Po'keno parties. She was very out-going, fashion conscientious, funny, and love life.
Jeffery was a homemaker with five children and worked part-time until she landed her career on the recommendation of her close friend, Sarah Walker. Jeffery served as Food Service supervisor and manager at the University of California at San Diego, where she worked until she retired. After retirement, her friend Sarah hired her to do seasonal work during the annual Del Mar Fair. Later, with her work ethic and performance, she managed her concession stand in the grandstands of the Premier Boardwalk of the horse racing world at Del Mar Racetrack.
Jeffery retired from her seasonal job to spend the rest of her time enjoying life and her family after her oldest daughter got sick in 2007.
On Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 81 yrs old, Jeffery passed away peacefully; she went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ.
Jeffery was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Charles Veasley, parents, Benny H. Bell and Mother Margie Watts-McCoy, her eldest daughter Melonee Mohamed, middle son, Christopher Veasley, Brothers Edward "Sam" Bell, Wayne Mitchell, and sister Beverly Mitchell.
Jeffery leaves us survived by her daughter Arbezine Fisher of San Francisco, CA. son Rodney Veasley and daughter- in-law Madeline of Orland, CA, youngest son Kevin Veasley of San Diego, CA, Son-in law Bashir Mohamed. Grandchildren: Rodney Fisher, Saiid Mohamed, Samone Fisher, Rodney Jr. Fisher, Hakeem Fisher, Tatianna Veasley- Gladney, and Son-in-Law Andrew, Kevin Jr. Veasley. Two sisters Anna Bush of Temecula and Cheryl Bowman and Brother-in- law Jerry (4) Sisters-in-law: Louise Felton, Francis Richardson, Lena Veasley, and Betty Turner-Mitchell, (3) great- granddaughters: Jaciel, Marilyn, and Krose. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, other relatives, longtime friends: Sandra Freow, Joanne Ware, Juanita Mays, and Stella Roberts
