Jonai Iman Clarke, age 40, was a caring mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 5, 2021 in Plano, Texas after complications associated with an unexpected stroke. Her loving family and friends were by her side. She was born on September 10, 1981 in Oceanside, California to Cassandra Wells and the late Gregory Knowles.
Jonai is survived by a large blended family and a host of special friends including her precious sons Johnathan Clarke, Jr., Joshua Clarke and Josiah Wells; her beloved mother Cassandra Wells Martin, her devoted stepfather Larry L. Tanner and her loving Bonus Dad Johnny Martin; brothers Larry D. Tanner, Sr., David Pender, Dionysius Gray, Kevin Martin, Christopher Martin, Brandon Martin; sisters Jamilia Tanner, Turquoise Tanner, Rhyiion Knowles, Syasha Knowles, Alayeeia Bonner and Cynethia Martin; maternal grandmother Geraldine Wells, her dear Aunt Hazel Wing, special Uncles George Murrill and J. Roger McKinley Tanner and cousins Adele (AJ) Foster-Glenn, Al-Tariq Foster, a host of other aunts, uncles, and cousins; many nephews and nieces, very special friends Julian Mickens, Ashley Washington, Allison (Dubb) Washington, Bryan Broussard, former spouse Johnathan Clarke, Sr. and a great many extended family members. All of these she loved and touched deeply. Her cheerful attitude and bright smile will be truly missed!
