

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph David Izidoro Jr., lovingly known as Joey, who left us on the evening of September 4, 2025, in San Diego, California. He was 43 years old.
Born on September 18, 1981, in San Diego, Joey was deeply rooted in his family, community and San Diego sports. His warmth, sense of humor and generous spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.
Joey adored his family. He is survived by his parents, Joseph David Izidoro Sr. and Sherri Izidoro; his wife Sarah; his sons Joseph David III and Nathan Russell; his siblings, Jennifer Soares (Kevin), Jared Izidoro (Cassie) and Jonique Izidoro (Dominic); his nephews, niece, Godchildren and many extended family members and close friends who will miss him dearly.
Joey grew up in Point Loma and attended St. Augustine High School. He began his professional career in the casino industry in Las Vegas before moving to Lake Tahoe and returning to San Diego. Both professionally and in his personal life, Joey thrived on ensuring everyone always had a good time.
Joey’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family and sharing laughs with others. Whether he was coaching baseball, watching sports, or sharing a moment with his boys, Joey lived with a full heart and a deep love for those around him.
He will be remembered for his laughter, honesty, kindness and the love he gave so freely. He leaves behind a legacy of strength and deep devotion that will live on in all who had the privilege to know him.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, September 17th at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Point Loma with a Celebration of Life to follow the 10:00am service.
