Mrs. Katherine M Sanford

Katherine (Katie) Mavis Sanford June 13, 1917-October 13, 2017 It is with both sadness and pride that we acknowledge the life and now the passing of Katie Sanford, a remarkable, vibrant individual who dedicated her long life to the reality of the psyche through Jung’s Depth Psychology. Her unique contributions have been highly significant. To the very end she plumbed the depths of the human soul, in herself and countless others. Her life work is now done; she has departed the mortal body. Katie, a resident of Del Mar for the last 67 years, is predeceased by her husband, Dr. Wilbur R. Sanford (Sandy). She leaves behind two sons, Bill Sanford of Seattle and Jim Sanford of Omaha, her daughter, Lynette Walker, Vancouver, B.C., and her adult grandchildren and their children all with whom she cultivated highly authentic relationships. We gratefully acknowledge the exceptional gentle care and attention given our mother by Elizabeth Hospice in San Diego. Katie will be sadly missed by her family and her wide circle of friends all dedicated to the arduous task of developing consciousness. A private graveside ceremony will be held at El Camino Memorial Park, Sorrento Valley, San Diego on October 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. A personal celebration of life will follow.
