You thriving in Japan. Miss you Koki. I always thought you would be a part of my life forever. Not a day goes by where you don’t cross my mind. I love you.

i miss you a lot and it feels weird not having you here anymore. that’s okie tho bc I know wherever you are, you’re having a great time. I just wanted to let you know that you’ll always live on through me from such a huge impact you’ve left. I hope to see you again in another life :) I love you a lot. Forever. 

Koki I miss you because you gaven me a new name. It is SAKURA. I like it but I don’t understand why you gone too soon. Ihope your souls will in heaven and I think you always in my mind 🙏🙏🙏

Your spirit will live on in the lives of all the people you inspired. You taught me about manifestation and showed me the secret language of birthdays. I always admired your passion for music and the arts. It showed in the way you loved to rap, sing, and write poems. You were so poetic. I’ll never forget the times we spent together in Japan especially when you climbed this giant Lego giraffe. 
You’ll be missed dearly by all those who love you. My only regret is that we never got to properly say goodbye. Rest easy. I’ll always love you.

Thank you for the beautiful memories and your beautiful spirit. Your light will continue to shine through all of us. I’ve been seeing signs about love and I know it’s you around. Thank you for the reminder to continue to love and share that love amongst others. I miss your smile, I miss your laugh and I miss your hugs. I still have your long board that you gave me 7 months ago. I am going to keep it forever ♾ I love you Koki 💗 and always will 🦋✨

So I am tremendously devastated he’s gone, and I miss him terribly. I am also confused all of the time. I wish he were here, with me, and with all of us. Forgive me for being so brazen considering I've known him for so little, while most have known him a lifetime, but losing Koki is like losing a future for me. I have never loved anyone as much as I've loved Koki, but that's because Koki loved me first.
But as a believer in the afterlife how can I not also be relieved for his soul that is joined once again by his mother whom he loved so dearly. 

I know he is making it louder wherever he is. Doing non-conforming things like he always does. Thank God life is short so that we can all be with our loved ones soon enough.

Thought I would share a very regular picture of Koki living his life in action. He made tostadas that day. And they were delicious. 

He also told me a secret that day. Sometimes when he’s feeling silly he’ll turn on gangster rap really loudly, roll down the windows, and drift awfully close to nearby pedestrians and throw up fake gang signs to pretend to be all hard. 

There was once a time where he told me to close my eyes because he wanted to get me a flower. Before I could open my eyes again, he said, “Um. I sort of did something bad.” And I opened my eyes to Koki holding a completely uprooted plant. I had to tell him to put the plant back into the ground. He patted it, and then told the flower, “I’m sorry. I hope you stay alive.”

I went into Sephora with him once, and he went to the skincare aisle and started using a cotton swab meant for makeup application to clean his ears. An associate came up behind him and asked him if he needed any help. He turned around with the swab in his ear and said, “Huh? Oh. Nope.” And then resumed cleaning his ears, and I was so embarrassed I pretended to not know him! But I was overcome with laughter.

He would sometimes shout to passerbyers that I’m murdering him!

He is really, a very giant, massive, embarrassing at times, unashamed, goofball. And now that I’ve seen him in his casket, I question to myself, “How can someone so colorful and lively be so dead now?” I digress.

Despite the fact of his characteristic goofiness, he had far more depth than I thought he did when I first met him. 
When I first met Koki, I thought he was simply a party guy, as he is obviously a well-liked guy. 
Sometimes we go through this world filtering who might affect us and who might not affect us. I mistakenly categorized Koki as someone who I would not be affected by.
But the first time that I spent with Koki, he told me about his passed-on mom. 


You are loved. I went through some of my darkest times with you. And even when there was little hope and all you could see was dark. Your light shown through. Im just sorry my light wasnt strong enough for you to see. Thank you so much koki. I will never forget you.

I am honored that I was able to get know you. I hate that you couldn’t stay longer but some people are just needed in Heaven sooner than others. I take solace knowing that you are with your mom now and I hope that I get to see you again when my time comes.

This is a Japanese war flag that I made for Koki, that I never got the chance to give to him. Koki use to live live in our shared house with us until very recently when he moved to another place to live. We all loved Koki so much, he just lit up the room with joy when ever he walked into the room. We are all just devastated to hear the news of Koki passing, and saddened beyond words. He was the kindest, most good spirited, giving person you would ever want to meet, what a beautiful soul.
I don't know what to do with the flag, it means a lot to me now, but I am old and retired, and have no place to  keep it, his family wants it's they are more than welcome, or his girlfriend. Michael mpazoga@live.com

One of the things I admire about Koki is that he loves unabashedly, and he's expressive, and without shame. He has so much humor that sometimes he'd make faces at other drivers. I'm pretty sure this was one of those faces he used to harass other drivers with

I hope I'm not coming off as insensitive, but I wanted to share Koki's smile and humor again, and some words from my friend who I tend to confide in when I'm going through difficult seasons of my life. This time I asked him what compels him to believe in spirituality that extends beyond our bodily limitations. If you need help believing that your loved ones still surround you after death then I think these words will help, because they helped me.
". . . when you close your eyes and envision a tree or a car or Koki or something - you see it, right? Where is that image? Sure, it's neurons firing in your brain, but it's not like those neurons are in the shape of a tree. Where do those thoughts exist? Outside of what's measurable physically, it seem apparent to me that there's something more to us, a deeper sense of self that goes beyond our bodies. But even beyond that, I've felt the presence of God, and the loved ones I've lost. I don't need to have a justification for why the sky is blue, because I've seen it. I don't feel like I need an explanation for why we exist beyond our bodies physically, because I've experienced it. Maybe that's not enough for a scientific study, but its enough for me."
