

Linzey Earickson Southwell, Jr., a Talent Acquisition/Technical Recruiter, and long-time resident of San Diego County passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, after nearly a year-long battle with terminal cancer.
Linzey is survived by his wife, Julie Jathanna Hanny Southwell, his parents Elizabeth "Liz" Landrum and father Scott "Rocky" Landrum, his sister Sally Landrum and aunt Daniela "Linda" Arnhold, his grandmother Zatelyn Bukovsky, his uncle Ruppert (Ted) Richardson, and his uncle Casford "Ritchie" Richardson.
Linzey was born in St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands (USVI) on September 1, 1975 He served honorably for 21 years in the United States Marine Corps. His military occupational specialty in the Marine Corps was Utilities Chief. On September 1, 2018 he married Julie, a Marine Corps veteran and Management Analyst for the Department of the Navy.
Linzey was dedicated to health and fitness. He enjoyed watching sports, mostly football and basketball. His favorite football team is the Eagles. He enjoyed traveling and visiting different countries. He loved to cook. He made the best jerk chicken wings. His favorite dish is his wife’s cultural Cambodian/Thai hot pot. His “me” time involved playing his favorite video games and watching his favorite TV shows. In high school, Linzey went to the state finals for basketball. The school had never gone that far in the past. He was the captain of the team for Vocational Technical Institute. He was offered a full scholarship for track and field at Mammoth College in Mt. Laurel, NJ but decided to join the Marine Corps instead.
A visitation is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29 at the El Cajon Mortuary 684 S. Mollison Ave El Cajon, 92020.
