

A loving husband, a beloved Tatay, a proud grandfather, a wonderful uncle, a caring brother, a great Elementary Industrial Arts Teacher, Mathematics Teacher, a baseball and running coach, a great friend, a buddy and an outstanding father.
Lorenzo - nicknamed through the years: Insoy, Lory and Lorenz, 73 years old, passed away peacefully in the presence of his two wonderful daughters: Michelle and Cathy, on Aug. 18, 2020.
Born on Oct. 9, 1946, the only son of Alejandro V Ruelos and Francisca Ridao, San Vicente, Ilocos Sur. Graduated from Ilocos Sur High School and in 1971, he received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education at the University of Northern Philippines, Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
After college, he left Ilocos Sur, to start his 25-years teaching career in Mindanao, Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte where their oldest sibling , Josefina Vina lives.
In Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte, he came to meet and made as a good friend, a white American priest, Father White. Fr. White, being the Pastor of St Vincent Catholic Church, Kauswagan, LdN offered temporary work for Lorenz. Father White was proud & impressed with Lorenzo’s trade & equipment skills, workmanship and ethics that when (Fr White) he got transferred to his next parish assignment (Agusan Catholic Church, Cagayan de Oro) he offered Lorenzo to follow him in the new parish assignment.
There in the new parish, lorenzo and Dioly met. Eventually got married with a gift of Fr. White. As a special benefit to his faithful employee, (Fr White) gave the newly wed a nice, spacious suite in 1st floor of the 2-story rectory while Father White stayed in the 2nd floor.
End of that year, 1973, Dioly and Lorenzo moved to Kauswagan Lanao del Norte to start their life and family. As for lorenzo , he started his 25 years teaching career as an Industrial Arts teacher, with added duty as. Mathematics teacher in Kauswagan Central Elementary School.
In December 1998, Lorenz took his early retirement from Philippines public school to join his two sisters in San Diego, CA as an Immigrant. He worked and played low key in the community, with his two sisters to do the active, church involvement & ministries.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dioly; their three children: Fulbert, Michelle(Tam), Cathy (Randy); Grand children: Steve Ruelos, Sophia Tran, Kassi Ruelos. Siblings: Pining, Moning, Emily (Dcn Jim), Fely, Ester (Flor); San Diego nieces & nephews: Charisma, Allan, Dennis, Kyle & Marc.
And many nieces & nephews & kins from many cities in US & the Philippines.
