

Lucille Conniry was born on January 2nd, 1915 and passed away on December 27, 2014. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her father served in the US Navy and the family was relocated several times until finally coming to San Diego in 1930 and later retired as Chief Petty Officer. She was a student at Woodrow Wilson Jr High and Herbert Hoover High Schools. She worked at the 1934 World Expo where she met her future husband, William J. Conniry. They were married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in 1940. In the mid 1950's they moved to east county finally settling in La Mesa in 1958 where she remained until her passing. As a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church she was active in the Catholic Women's Club ( Regina Coeli Club and Our Lady of Fatima Guild). She also enjoyed attending retreats at The Discalced Carmelite Friars of El Carmelo Retreat House. Together they raised 7 children. Four sons, William, Charles, Michael and Patrick and three daughters, Mary Carol, Katherine and Bernadette. She is survived by 5 children, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She loved being a homemaker and mother always baking, canning her own foods and sewing clothing for herself and children. In addition to raising her children she helped support them by working in sales and later managing a dry cleaning service. She loved caring for children and continued to do so until her 90's. She was a very kind and loving person who inspired and left us with cherished memories. We were blessed to have her in our lives for so many years.
Lucille was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all.
