Magdalena ‘Lynn’ Shaw, a woman whose light touched the lives of all who knew her, passed away September 23, 2024 at the age of 65. Lynn was a fiercely independent and selfless individual who lived life on her own terms. She will be best remembered for her boundless love, vibrant spirit, radiant smile, and unforgettable personality.
Lynn’s love for family and friends knew no bounds; she was genuinely interested in the lives of others and always made time to ask, “How’s your family?” She listened intently, truly caring about the answers, finding joy in the connections she nurtured.
Her bond with her cats, William, Natasha, Joshua, Basil, and Martin, over the years was a reflection of her deep compassion. She also found endless satisfaction in caring for her thriving plants, which she lovingly encouraged others to talk to, believing it brought a little more kindness into the world.
Lynn was one to stop to smell the roses, quite literally. She insisted on pausing to smell every flower in bloom on her path, reaching effortlessly—even for those just out of range. Her balance and athletic grace made each movement appear intentional and grounded. One could only wonder how many countless flowers she had leaned in to savor over the years, each petal a moment of delight in a lifetime strung together by her appreciation for nature’s beauty.
“Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers was her favorite song, and whether it played softly in the background or was just a melody in her mind, it seemed to embody her enduring sense of passion and love for life. Lynn was also one to dance—whether in the kitchen, at a gathering, or in a simple sunny afternoon, her carefree spirit and laughter radiated, lifting the hearts of everyone around her.
Often described as a "bright light," Lynn had a natural way of making those around her feel seen, heard, and loved. She was outgoing, never afraid to strike up a conversation, and had the rare ability to make everyone feel like a friend. Her strength was a cornerstone of who she was—fierce in her convictions, strong in her will, and independent through every challenge life brought her way.
To say Lynn will be missed is an understatement. She was truly unforgettable. Her beauty, both inside and out, left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path, and her sassy, bold nature will be remembered forever by those who loved her most.
Lynn Shaw is survived by her husband Thomas, and countless friends whose lives were forever brightened by her presence. Though she has left this world, her legacy of love, laughter, and light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
Rest in peace, Lynn. You danced through life with grace, humor, and unshakable strength, and you will never be forgotten. What people saw of you was who you were, and you were a good person.
