Marcia Anne Jacobs Chrivia Now at rest after a series of illnesses, Marcia Chrivia lived a life centered around home, travel and family. The daughter of Tyrrell Dwight Jacobs and Leta Lois Stephens Jacobs, Marcia was born in Annapolis, Maryland. She was living in Honolulu, Hawaii where her father was a submarine captain when it was decided that due to escalating tensions in the area that she should go with her mother and sister to her grandparents' home in Miami, Oklahoma. After the war and several more transfers, Marcia lived in Coronado, California where she attended Coronado High School. While there, she met the love of her life, Robert Allen Chrivia. On her 18th birthday, they were married in Tijuana, Mexico and returned to live in Coronado where her first two sons were born. Bob and Marcia enjoyed being married so much that they had a second ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1957. The family moved to Santa Maria and Lompoc, California where their daughter was born. Living in a tropical paradise is the dream of many people and Marcia was able to fulfill that dream when the family moved to Kwajalein, Marshall Islands. During the period 1966-1972, sun, surf and sand were a part of everyday life. Raising two active boys and one girl took up much of her time but she found time to hold a position on the island newspaper, the Hourglass, and to make many lasting friendships. To allow their sons the opportunity to attend high school in the States, the family moved to Poway, California where she worked in real estate and for the family automotive businesses. The island call was too strong, so Marcia, Bob and Suzy returned to Kwajalein in 1980 for another 20 years. Marcia returned for a short stint at the Hourglass, then worked at the Surfway, Ten Ten and Macy's retail facilities. She took advantage of her surroundings to learn to scuba dive, play softball, volleyball and go out on the fishing boats. She was an avid reader and enjoyed a good mystery. She created many quilts, pillows and handicrafts which will be treasured for generations to come. Trading one paradise for another after retirement, Marcia returned to San Diego where she lived her remaining years. She continued to travel visiting many states of the Union, many European countries, Canada and Mexico. Her last trip was taken with her husband and oldest son to visit ancestral family sites around the United States and Canada. Marcia leaves behind her husband of 60 years; her sons, Robert Allen Jr. (Pat) and John Charles (Rita) and her daughter, Suzanne Lee (Thomas "Bud" Teague) as well as one grandson, Kelson Robert Chrivia and two granddaughters, Katherine Elizabeth Chrivia and Kaitlin Anne (Jonathan Byram). She is predeceased by her parents and siblings, Mary Maurine (Geoffrey) Perley and John Charles Jacobs.
