

Mary Ann Stevenson (Kavaloski) of San Diego, California passed away peacefully at home on January 23rd. She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Stewart her husband, Richard Stevenson, and her son, Wayne Stevenson. She is survived by her sons, Dale, Timothy, and Tony, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maryann was full of life and had a generous, nurturing spirit. She was known for her energetic personality, unmatched hospitality, and for always opening her home for holidays and family celebrations. She loved the outdoors and spent much of her life camping around California with her husband and family. When her husband, Richard, worked Civil Service for the Navy, she spent several years in Hawaii and shared beautiful memories of their time there with family and friends. Throughout her life, she spent time with her beloved uncles and spoke highly of them and their influence and involvement in her upbringing. Later in life, she traveled to Texas to visit family. She loved cooking, waterskiing, sewing, crocheting, and could beat anyone at an honest game of poker. Mary Ann always made sure everyone had a full belly and a warm bed. Many sorely miss her love of life, sense of humor, and warm, caring personality already. Services will be held on February 7th from 4 to 6 pm (viewing) and from 6 to 7 pm (rosary) at El Camino Memorial Sorrento Valley, 5600 Carrol Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121. A formal Catholic mass will be held on February 8th from 10 to 11 am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8200 Gold Coast Dr, San Diego, CA 92126; followed by a graveside service at El Camino Sorrento Valley at 11:30 am.
