Otis Letchaw

His parents and loving wife of 60 years Rose Letchaw, as well as all siblings, Mertis Simmons, LB Letchaw and Fred Letchaw preceded him in death.

Otis began his life in Homer, Louisiana, and later moved to Camden, Arkansas where he met the love of his life Rose Hunter. In 1959, Otis and Rose move to San Diego, California where they started their family and welcomed their first-born son, Orlando Letchaw in 1962, and soon after a baby girl, Vernise Letchaw in 1963.

As a young man, Otis began his career as a transmission mechanic and continued in that profession throughout his life, retiring from ATS after 30 plus years of dedicated service.

Otis enjoyed family barbeques, watching football, playing dominos, cards and watching The Bold and the Beautiful.

On Monday, July 1, 2024, Otis departed this life to be with the Lord. His memory will be cherished by his daughter, Vernise Letchaw Caldwell, son Orlando Letchaw, 2 granddaughters Dominique Caldwell and Celena Smitski, son-in-law Dominic Caldwell, daughter-in-law Jena Letchaw, sister-in-law LaVerne Turner Jones and several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
