Paul Eugene Stoltz

Paul Eugene Stoltz passed away on September 8th as the result of an accident. Paul was born on December 10, 1938 in Winston-Salem, N.C. to Harry & Florence (Mangels) Stoltz. At the age of 5, during WW II, the family moved to San Diego and to the Frontier Housing Projects. From there, Harry built the family home off Nimitz in Pt. Loma, where Paul continued to live until his passing. Paul attended Richard Henry Dana, Jr. High School and graduated from Pt. Loma High School in 1957. Paul married Donna Naylor in Dec. of 1957, and they had one daughter. After training at San Diego City College, Paul began his 30+ year career as a pipe fitter with Local 230. On March 31, 1989, Paul married the love of his life, Gwynedd (Steers) Stoltz. Upon retiring with a disability, Paul and Gwyn purchased and operated BOB Lock and Key for several years.

Paul loved living in the Pt. Loma/Ocean Beach area, walking in Shelter Island, cruising to the Cabrillo Lighthouse, and taking road trips all over California and beyond with his beloved Gwyn. He was preceded in death by both of his parents as well as his brother and sister, Richard and Frances Stoltz. He is survived by Gwyn, his daughter Lisa Bartholomew Turner (Dave) of Erie, CO and step children Peter Steers (Mary) of Morgans Point, TX, Lisa Davis (Joe) of Waco, TX and Molly Steers (Susie) of Olympia, WA. Paul and Gwyn also have ten grandchildren: Joe, Taylor, Sarah, Jacob, Cameron, Gwynnie, Maggie, Wes, Braydon, and Nivaeh. And Tilly Lily Cat. Paul loved all things football, especially his Chargers. He was an amazing friend and woke up each day with the goal to laugh and to make others laugh. His robust laughter and happy-go lucky ways will be missed! Any donations can be made to the San Diego Humane Society in his name.

There will be an open house in memory of Paul at the O'Bistro Cafe, 4934 Voltaire St., Ocean Beach, 92107 on Friday, September 12th from 2 to 5pm.. Please stop by to laugh with others who were touched by Paul's infectious smile.
