Peter Richardson Carr Jr., 34 of Wheat Ridge, CO, died suddenly on March 6th. He leaves behind his wife of 7 years Alison Macia Carr and 21-month-old daughter, Elena Louise. He is survived by his parents Peter and Rebecca Carr, sister Lucy Riviello and brother-in-law Andrew Riviello; his grandparents Donald and Barbara Groves; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. He is predeceased by his grandparents Dr. Ronald and Nancy Carr.
Peter was born in New York City and lived there until moving to Atlanta when he was 6. Growing up, Peter was into sports - from karate to soccer to baseball and lacrosse. He played the drums, was an avid skateboarder, and loved music and movies. He graduated from Georgia Southern University and was a member of the Delta Chi fraternity. After college he returned to New York City and moved in with high school sweetheart Ali, in Brooklyn for the next 8 years, living right down the block from his sister, Lucy, and other family members. He began a career in advertising, and his love of all the city had to offer was infectious, walking and biking the entire island of Manhattan every weekend.
Peter married Ali in 2019, and together they traveled the world, visited national parks, hiked many 14’ers, summitted Mount Kilimanjaro, and explored every brewery from the East to West Coast. He was an incredible adventurer for places and food, always seeking out new experiences wherever he was. Peter and Ali moved to Denver in 2021 to be near the mountains, where they later welcomed their beautiful daughter Elena.
Forever a loyal Atlanta sports fan he never missed a Falcons game, even while living in NYC, finding the local Falcons watering hole. He loved to watch all sports and knew just about every statistic and player. When he wasn’t climbing or snowboarding down a mountain, he was at the golf course or the gym. Peter was never one to sit around idly and truly lived life to the fullest. He was full of wonderfully useless knowledge, always sharing the latest fun fact and making people laugh with the in-depth research he had done on whatever topic had recently captured his curiosity. Full of jokes, he never failed to make anyone in the room laugh with his outrageous sense of humor. With his big personality, he was often the life of the party, effortlessly bringing out the best in everyone around him. So many friends have said how inspired they were by Peter’s positivity and curiosity in life.
The greatest joy of his life was marrying Ali whom he loved deeply, and becoming a dad. He was the quintessential ‘girl dad’ and could make Leni giggle and smile. She was the light of his life.
A celebration of his life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Peter’s honor to support Leni and Ali here.
