Early on Tuesday, August 12th, 2025, Rebecca Lee Swindall-Hazer passed away peacefully in her home. She battled ovarian cancer for 3 ½ years and still enjoyed life to the fullest. She was surrounded by family in her final days.
Rebecca was born in La Jolla, San Diego, CA on June 28th, 1958. She attended SDSU and was a proud alumna who enjoyed watching Aztec football games for many years.
She met her husband of 33 years, William Hazer. They married in 1992 and moved to a beautiful home in Sorrento Valley. She gave birth to her beloved daughter, Mikaela Hazer, in 1996 in San Diego, CA. She began working in Special Needs classrooms with the San Diego Unified School District for over twenty years.
She is predeceased by her parents, Dudley Swindall and Sharon Hill (née Magnuson), and her sister Dolly Francis. She is survived by her husband William Hazer, her daughter Mikaela Hazer, and her sisters Carrie Cipollone and Angel Francis.
Rebecca loved crafts including scrapbooking and sewing. She was active in her community and volunteered in many school events. Her favorite places to be were at the beach, in Hawaii, or in Julian, CA.
