Rodney Michael Robinette

Rodney Michael Robinette Jr. 33 of Jamul, CA formerly of Catlettsburg, KY died Monday April 13, 2015 at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, CA after a sudden illness. He was born November 23, 1981 in Ironton OH the son of Rodney Michael and Karen Denise Childers Robinette of Ashland, KY. He was a veterinarian assistant for the ElcaJon Valley Animal Hospital, a US Navy veteran, having served three tours in the Persian Gulf, on the USS Ronald Reagan. Rodney loved the outdoors and surfing. He always had a smile on his face, lived life to its fullest and was brighter than a thousand suns. In addition to his parents he is also survived by one sister; Jean-Marie Robinette Young and husband Dean of Ashland, KY, one brother; Daniel K. Robinette and fiancée Kristen McKee of Ashland, KY, one nephew; Deano Young of Ashland, KY, Rodney’s life partner; Ixchel Mosley DVM and her daughters, Quinn and Devi of Jamul , CA. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday April 24, 2015 at Miller Funeral Home by Pastor Steve Harris. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM till 2:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Kenova American Legion Post 93.
