November 12, 1961 – March 25, 2025
With deep sorrow and immense love, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Romeo Cajusay, of Chula Vista, CA. He passed away on March 25, 2025, at the age of 63.
Born on November 12, 1961, in Olongapo City, Philippines, Romeo was the cherished son of Porfirio and Angeles Cajusay. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, he was a devoted family man, a source of wisdom and strength, and a kind soul who left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Romeo is survived by his loving wife, Cecilia, and their children: Kay & Brannon, Carlo & Alisa, Gelo & Aurora, Noonie & Chelsea, and Roy & Ian. He was a proud grandfather to Caleb, Calvin, Elijah, Alana, Claire, Izzy, Levi, and Milah, and a beloved brother to Amy & Ed, Jun & Araceli, Aida & Virgil, Amelia & Mike, Alma & Reimar, and Norlito. His legacy of love, integrity, and dedication lives on through each of them.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his two older brothers, Leo and Renato.
A man of many joys, Romeo found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He loved playing basketball at Admiral Prout Basketball Court, tending to his backyard garden, traveling the world with Cecilia, and enjoying meals at his favorite spots like California Fish Grill and Point Loma Seafood. Shopping at Lululemon and Vuori was a pastime he enjoyed, but nothing brought him greater joy than his walks with Cecilia at Coronado Island and Liberty Station.
Sundays were special—mornings spent watching Eastlake Community Church’s online service with Cecilia, followed by basketball in the evenings or cherished time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Romeo’s infectious laugh, unwavering work ethic, and boundless love will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1982 to 2004, retiring as a Chief Aviation Boatswain’s Mate, qualified in both Air Warfare and Surface Warfare. A Persian Gulf War veteran, he took great pride in his 22 years of honorable service, dedicating his career to the flight decks of aircraft carriers.
Though he has left this world, his love and legacy will forever remain in the lives he touched.
