Rosalva L. Villaescusa, born October 9, 1927 in the town of Bacadehuachi, Sonora, Mexico. This is where she met the love of her life, Jose M. Villaescusa (Chacho). They were married on November 1, 1951. They had 7 children: Jose Juan, Maria Elena, Angelina, Elsa Gloria, Maria, Arnoldo and Trinidad, 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She loved to cook, make quilts, crochet and always kept her home spotless and her garden full of flowers & beautiful roses. There was always something to do and kept busy, but was never too busy to welcome family & friends. She enjoyed music, dancing and playing jokes or simply just talking.
She survived many of life’s challenges, including breast cancer, but her greatest challenge was the death of her youngest son, Trinidad in 2006. Life just wasn’t the same & she started to decline. Her “Viejito”, Chacho, was the light of her life and kept her going. She did not want to leave him and he did not want to leave her. He passed away on August 6,2012 and she followed him on August 18, 2012.
A strong woman, wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother is gone but her memory, her love, and guidance will live in our hearts forever.
A viewing will be held Thursday, August from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Greenwood Mortuary-Garden Chapel, 4300 Imperial Avenue. San Diego, California 92113. A funeral mass will be held at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 8086 Broadway Avenue, Lemon Grove, California 91945. Rosalva will be laid to rest at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego, California.
Rosalva will be missed, we will always and forever carry her in our hearts...
