

Jane was born in San Diego, California on November 11, 1926. She graduated from Point Loma High School, San Diego State College and earned her MA at Redlands University. Jane taught at Loma Portal Elementary School before retiring in 1981. After retiring, Jane volunteered at the Natural History Museum, and 20 years at Sharp Cabrillo Hospital.
In September 1948 she married Joseph Tody and treasured 66 years of life together, traveling to many states and countries. Together they raised two children, Roxanne and David, and shared countless loving memories.
Jane enjoyed gardening, traveling, and hosting events for her friends and family. She was a dedicated friend, and loyally gathered with a group of Point Loma High School graduates, monthly for over 70 years, the Xzephas.
She will be remembered for her comforting hugs, enthusiastic conversations, generosity, kindness, and love of education. Jane was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Tody, daughter Roxanne Pike, and son David Tody. Jane is survived by three grand-daughters Monica McAuliffe (James), Stephanie Masterjohn (Jason), Rachelle Coler and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Logan, Aiden, Natalie and Harrison.
