

Salome Natividad Ejanda was born in Manila, Philippines on March 13, 1924. She was one of twelve children of Florentino and Felisa Dacanay. Salome married her first husband, Avelino Natividad, on December 6, 1944 when she was 20 years old. She gave birth to her son, Danilo, on March 31, 1946 and daughter, Editha, on May 20, 1947. She was married to Avelino for 37 years until his death on March 27, 1981.
In 1986, Salome left the Philippines for the United States to live in San Diego, California where both of her children resided. Salome helped raise all of her grandchildren taking an active part in each of their daily lives, education, and spiritual upbringing. Her grandchildren attribute their achievements to her love, devotion, and encouragement.
She was active in local community activities including All Senior Citizens Alliance, Radio Manila, Open Arms and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. While participating in senior citizen community activities, Salome fell in love with Gregorio Ejanda. They were married on June 9, 1990 when she was 66 years old, and were together for 17 years until his death on March 1, 2007. After Gregorio’s death, Salome came to live with her son and daughter-in-law remaining active in all of her church, volunteer and social activities up until her passing on December 23, 2012.
Salome is survived by her siblings (Pacita Dacanay, Salvacion Dacanay Garcia, Francisco Dacanay, and Eduardo Dacanay), son and daughter-in-law (Dan and Virginia Natividad), daughter and son-in-law (Edith and Rodrigo Sasis), grandchildren (Edna Lynn Sasis and her spouse, Douglas Myers, Elmira Monina Sasis Soriano and her spouse, Mark Soriano, Eleanor Gay Sasis, Roderick Erwin Sasis, Melanie Natividad, and Joseph Carl Natividad), and great-grandchildren (Mark Aidan, Darian Kobe, and Roenan Kai Soriano).
