In 1956 he and his family moved to San Diego. He learned carpentry and worked hard in that trade for 40 years.
Sam was a peaceful man who loved his family and his church. He lived his faith as an example to those around him.
His passion was singing. He sang in numerous choirs throughout his life since his high school years.
Sam was preceded in death by:
his brother Kenneth, his brother John,
his brother Hugh, his sister Janie,
and his wife Loretta
He is survived by:
his sister Ruth and her husband Edward
his wife Mary
his son Samuel E. and his wife Janet
his son Daniel and his wife Jackie
his son Ralph and his wife Shira
his daughter Janice and her husband Billy
we are a blended family since July, 1976
with the following survivors:
son Ted and his wife Anne
daughter Melinda and her husband Virgil
daughter Kathlene and
son Richard
Thirteen grandchildren
and 25 great-grandchildren
