She was born April 8th, 1931, in Daegu, South Korea during colonial Japanese rule and through her suffering found her faith in Christianity. She was a true follower of Jesus Christ and found joy in both her church family and serving as a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She embodied the perfect dichotomy of cheerful and demure alongside fierce determination in her views of living a purposeful life.
Soon Yeon is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin and Sarah Kwak of San Diego. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joseph and Daniel Kwak and great Grandchildren Riley, Payton, Jordyn, Dillon, and Micah Kwak.
