Sylvia Luce Heitzmann, 82, passed away on June 5, 2012. Sylvia was born and raised in San Diego and was a graduate of San Diego State University. After her retirement as a public school teacher, Sylvia was active in multiple organizations including the State Board of Developmental Disabilities, The Social Service League of La Jolla, Town and Gown, and The San Diego Fifty-Sixers. Sylvia was devoted to her family, pets and church. She is preceded in death by her husband, William J. Heitzmann and survived by her daughters Katherine Heitzmann and Dr. Carma Heitzmann, son-in-law Dr. Jeffrey Kline and granddaughters Circassia and Delilah. Services will be held at 11:00am Friday, June 15th at Holy Trinity/Bethany Lutheran Church, 2051 Sunset Cliffs Blvd, Ocean Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Helen Woodward Animal Center, Rancho Santa Fe, Ca. to honor Sylvia’s passion for animals.
