.Thomas Louis Gibaldi June 9, 1937 - April 5, 2016 San Diego Thomas Louis Gibaldi was born on June 9, 1937 in Racine, Wisconsin. His family moved to San Diego when he was 2 years old. Son of Frank Gibaldi and Ida Lucille Gibaldi. Married to Raija Gibaldi May 21, 1972. He had 3 children, Tammy, Thomas, and Frank, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the second generation owner of Frank's Bakery which was opened in 1948. The business grew and became an important part of the Italian community here in San Diego. Thomas is survived by his wife Raija, sister Beatrice, his daughter Tammy, his sons Thomas and Frank, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was a loving and dedicated husband and father, and was a man dedicated to the larger family willing to help as he could to create a closer family on the whole. A charitable minded man and a true gentleman to the people around him he made the world better for knowing him. He is loved and remembered for the wonderful person he is and will always be in our hearts. Dad, Grandpa, Brother, and Uncle, rest in peace in your family's loving memories. A Mass of the Catholic faith will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Little Italy at 9:00 am on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, followed by a Memorial Service at Holy Cross Cemetery. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to either Our Lady of the Rosary Church and Parish or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital -
