He was born on December 14th, 1942, in Owensboro, KY. Ray was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He worked at the post office for over 40 years after serving 4 years in the US Navy. He met his second wife, Joyce, in San Diego, where they started a family. One of his greatest joys was watching the Kentucky Wildcats win their basketball games. He also loved reading and fishing.
Ray is survived by his wife Joyce and their two sons, Vaughn and Joel, as well as his California grandchildren, Patrick and Erica. In addition, he leaves behind his nephew Wes Riley, who was like a brother to him. And finally, from his first marriage, he leaves behind his Kentucky son, John Riley, and his four children and their children.
Visitation will be held at El Camino Memorial - Sorrento Valley, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121, US, on May 16, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at El Camino Memorial - Sorrento Valley, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121, US, on May 18, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Committal Service at the same location on May 18, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
