William Alicea Pacheco

December 25, 1948 – July 19, 2023

Mr. William Alicea Pacheco, also known as “Junior” by some of his family and friends, after struggling with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, peacefully passed away on July 19, 2023 in San Diego, California at the age of 74.

His memories and love are carried on by his wife, Maritza Corinne; children, William Enrique (Aimee), Jose Joel (Angelica), and Diane Marie (Alan); grandchildren, Serena Alexis and Isabella Corinne; sister, Sandra(Wilfredo) and brother, Nelson.

William was born on December 25, 1948 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He was the oldest son of William Alicea Sr. and Dora Pacheco, whom he loved with all his heart. He graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. On 1973, William married Maritza Corinne Jimenez, and had three children, William Enrique, Jose Joel and Diane Marie. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and his family was the most important part of his life. He loved spending time with his friends and family. He also deeply enjoyed music, especially salsa, and had an avid collection. He kept himself busy with home and gardening projects.

During his college years, William worked for Digital Equipment Corporation, Puerto Rico. In 1982, he was hired as an Electrical Engineer for Naval Electronics System Engineering Center, San Diego, and retired in 2012.

A viewing for William will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 4PM to 8PM at El Camino Memorial – Sorrento Valley, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121. The Mass for Catholic Burial will be held Wednesday August 2, 2023 at 10AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8200 Gold Coast Dr, San Diego, CA 92126 and the Committal will follow for a gravesite service at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 4470 Hilltop Dr, San Diego, CA 92102.
