William L. Weston was born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Albert & Jean (nee Weidenbaum) Weston. Bill was an only child with many very close and loving cousins still living in New York, Florida and California. At the time of his death he had been living in San Diego, California for the last 59 years.
Bill was a graduate of Princeton University & Case Western Reserve University as an aeronautical engineer and was a thirty plus year employee of General Dynamics Corp in San Diego. He was involved in the early space exploration program; helping to support early flight and Titan & Atlas missile rocket launches in Cocoa Beach, Florida & San Diego, California. After retirement Bill, Marcia & lifelong friends; Don & Brenda Terry started a computer education business, “Hit Any Key” based in Rancho Bernardo. They focused on helping to support those who needed workforce retraining and employment development.
Bill loved aerospace so much that he volunteered for the last thirty years through the San Diego Air & Space Museum’s Aircraft Restoration Program.
He was a thoughtful and hard-working husband of the late Marcia A. Weston, nee Bihari, a loving and caring father of Jim (Debra) Weston & Elisa (Paul) Weston Bernstein. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Zach, Samantha, Jessica and Mark. He was also a caring and supportive uncle to Ethan (Ricki) Klos and Brian (Leslie) Bihari. His sister-in-law Elaine (Larry) Klos will also miss him greatly.
Graveside services will be at El Camino Memorial – Sorrento Valley on Thursday October 22, 2020 at 3:00pm. Covid-19 rules allow for friends and family to attend but masks and social distancing should be maintained. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the period of mourning on Saturday, October 24 from 12:00pm-5:00pm at 3114 Briand Avenue, San Diego, Ca 92122. Contributions in his memory may be made to the donor’s choice or The San Diego Air & Space Museum’s Restoration Program.
