Dear God,
It was one year ago today my friend Joseph (Zayed Yousef) transitioned from this life to life eternal with you. I know time was created by you so we humans could tell one day from the next. I know for you a thousand years are like a day that has just gone by, but as we humans watch for your return and our loved ones transition away from us, each day can feel like a thousand years. Thank you Lord for letting us share each others lives together. I pray the Zawaideh family on this day of remembrance would hold on to the memories of their husband, father, brother, son, knowing it will not be long until we see our brother Joseph again. Please Lord, continue to watch over the Zawaideh family as they live out the life you have planned for them so long ago. Thank you God!

I learned about Joseph´s death today. I am so sad and my heart was broken by the news. A wonderful person as Joseph having passed away is very difficult to cope with.  I cannot find the adequate words to describe my pain. He was the most admirable person I ever met. My condolences to his wife, his daughters and his entire family going through these difficult times. I was lucky enough to meet Joseph (Zayed) 5 years ago when I interviewed with him at Levitate.  Ever since that day, there were hardly any days where I did not talk to him. He was a man who saw my potential even when I didn't and always cheered me on no matter how big or small the feat.

My favorite moments were the small ones.  Sitting at my desk just chatting about anything and everything with him.  My favorite recent memory was around Halloween and in the middle of our meeting he checks his phone and starts hysterically laughing to the point of tears.  He finally showed me what was bringing him so much joy and it was one of his daughters dressed as a little old lady.  The love he has for his family is unmatchable and anyone could see it. The way he lit up any time he talked about Lara or the girls is something people wish for.

Joseph built a beautiful community whether he realized it or not.  His smile lit up a room and he knew how to make everyone he met feel seen and special.  There is no one like Joseph and we are all blessed to have been apart of his amazing life. He is truly missed.

I first met "Joseph"  in December of 2014 while working at Vermeer Corporation in Pella Iowa. Almost immediately we hit it off and I joined him on his quest to bring a new technology (Exoskeleton) to the market to change the lives of everyday workers. Over the next 9 years I would grow to know a man who loved his family, was brilliant at marketing and finances, and was by far one of the most humble people I have had the honor to meet and work with.  Scripture says that humility comes from wisdom and in Joseph's case this was true.  

It was through the gift of video technology I got to meet Mia and her love for music playing a Christmas song in 2020. Often on the way to the store Mia and Lia were in the car laughing and saying hi over face-time while Joseph and I were catching up on life.   

Because I live in Iowa and was in San Diego only a couple of times over the years I never had the chance to meet Lara in person but while on the road traveling with Joseph I learned much about the woman he loved to his core.  

I am turning 65 next month, have traveled the world and met many people from many distant lands and of those I have met, Joesph stands out as someone who I respected and who I called my brother. He and I were that close. Brothers from different parents but brothers none the less. I have to say it was our faith in God and the Holy Spirit that brought us together as friends and later as brothers in Christ. I will, as will all who knew Joseph, miss my brother until I see him again in heaven. What a special friend!!!
