Alpa was born on September 20, 1969, to Gunvantrai and Ranjan Kamdar in Mumbai, India. In her childhood, Alpa was an adorable, fun loving spitfire! Alpa was never the one who followed the norm. Her passion and hobbies were not that of an average Mumbai teenage girl. She loved car racing, sports (each and every sport), clothes and food and of course some grape drinks!
After receiving her MBA, she moved to US and spent most of her time in California, especially San Francisco - the city she called her home. She worked at reputable institutions, and took great pride in her work and the difference she made at these institutions. Like her friends and family members, Alpa’s business colleagues are brokenhearted by her sudden passing.
Alpa will be greatly missed by her god children (nieces and nephews) Shreya, Dishank, Sanjana, Viaana, Naisha, Haenik, Dhanish, Monali, Neha, Hiten, sister in laws Sonal and Nikita, sister Preeti and brother-in-law Hitesh.
Alpa had the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile. She was a hardworking, fun loving, caring, very witty and fun! She was fearless and independent, yet sensitive and incredibly compassionate. She loved the beach, vacations, running, art, football, basketball, golf, trash TV, Bollywood movies, sparkling water and Coke. She was strong-willed and determined, but those traits defined Alpa. Her strength, courage and never-giving up attitude undoubtedly helped her deal with life’s challenges.
Alpa was a strong fighter, but she is now sailing on a journey to shores that we cannot see.
The funeral ceremony will be conducted on Thursday, August 31st from 9:30 - 11:00 am at San Francisco Columbarium and Funeral Home (1 Loraine Ct, San Francisco, CA 94118).
