Celia Ann Magtoto (née Mahaffey), 64, born in San Francisco CA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2020 in San Francisco, CA due to complications from a nearly 4 year battle with breast cancer.
Throughout her treatment, Celia continued her work as a 5th grade teacher - her commitment to her students, their families and the young people of San Francisco never wavering. During her career she remained dedicated to making sure her students had access to the arts, STEM and literacy initiatives. After over 25 years of teaching she had decided to retire at the end of this school year, but was dedicated to finding ways to support our most in need youth even in retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Felix; her mother Geraldine; her brother Richard and sister-in-law Marcia; and daughters Nicole (Niki) and Monica; she will be missed by all, but most especially the family dog Reggie. No formal service will be held, however the family will host a private memorial later this year.
