Kathryn (Kiki, Katie, KT) T Easterbrook passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 30 years old. Despite seeking help from medical professionals, Kiki's symptoms were disregarded, leading to her death. Born on November 25, 1992 in Lynchburg, VA, Kiki grew into a pink-, purple-, green-, rainbow-, and ruby red-haired beauty. A kind-hearted spirit with eyes the color of sea glass. Our rainbow. Our social butterfly. Our bird of paradise.
Kiki was multi-talented, working as a florist, managing clothing stores, co-owning a configuration management training company, as well as acting as an event organizer, pet mom, plant mom, and so much more. She thrived on creativity and social interaction. But most of all, Kiki was compassionate. She was many people's first friend and had a way of making everyone feel accepted and connected within her community. Kiki was always there for those she loved, encouraging them to be brave, take risks, and stay true to themselves. Many described her as a bright light, feeling warmth within her presence.
In 2014, Kiki met the love of her life, Alec Mann, and began her biggest adventure. She moved from Virginia across the country to San Francisco, CA, where the two set out to catch the world on fire with their love of art, flowers, fashion, color, and music. Their love continued to grow and they eventually welcomed into their lives their dog, Weenie; cats, Junior and Xena; and a rescue-snail garden. Kiki and Alec lived a beautiful life laughing and dancing together and were wed on April 18, 2022. They just celebrated their first anniversary.
Kiki was taken from us far too early, and is now resting in the arms of Mother Gaia, the personification of the Earth, the mother of all life. Kiki will be met by her father, Steven Easterbrook; all four of her grandparents; as well as a number of friends that were also lost too soon. Kiki is survived by her husband, Alec; her mother, Kathy; her sisters, Kerri and Kristen; her "adopted" brother, Jessey Gouin; her mother-in-law, Ruth Anne Phillips; as well as an array of wonderful family members, friends, pets, plants, and snails.
A private service was held to celebrate Kiki's life. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Kiki's honor to Lynchburg Grows, an organization that provides access to healthy food for the community and purposeful jobs to individuals with disabilities. Access their donation page here: https://www.lynchburggrows.org/donate
Kiki, may you attract butterflies, soar within nebulas, slide down rainbows, and dance on moonbeams. We love you so much.
