Madeleine June Leong

After a long illness, Madeleine June Leong Passed away peacefully on February 1st. Born in San Francisco to late George S.K. and Ruth Mae Leong. Loving sister of Winifred Huey and the late Wallace Leong and Maxwell Leong. Much loved aunt of Carol Huey, Anthony Huey, Veronica Huey, Augustus and Doreen Huey, Glenn and Linda Leong, Judy Leong. Great Aunt of Ta-Meka, Anthalina, Matthew and Kaitlin.

Madeleine worked 38 years for the State of California, Division of Workers' Compensation as a Court Reporter.

In her spare time, she loved to read and collected books of various subjects especially Chinese History and Art. She was Past President of the Chinese Historical Society of America and volunteered countless of hours including the Chinese Cultural Center of San Francisco. She was a member and actively involved with Hung On Tong, a Family Association.

She was well traveled, a certified tour guide, notary, spoke Spanish and was in the St. Mary's Drum Corp. She loved horticulture especially Orchids.

Madeleine will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Funeral Services, will be held on Monday, February 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Halsted N. Gray- Carew & English, 1123 Sutter St., San Francisco.
