
Peter Richard Poole, 70 of Greenwich and Stamford, CT, died Tues. May 12, 2015 at home. Born in Jersey City, NJ on January 11, 1945, he was the son of the late Otho Fletcher Poole and Anna Bukacz Poole. Mr. Poole was an accomplished athlete in football, baseball and track & field throughout high school and college. In football, he held the record for the longest punt for New Jersey high schools at 87 yards. During his junior year of high school, he scored every point for his team over the entire football season. He was a graduate of Lafayette College earning a Bachelors in Economics and was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity. Mr. Poole received multiple honors while serving in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970, and was stationed in Berlin during the height of the Cold War. Throughout his life, he was an avid golfer and fisherman. Peter was a loving husband and father and greatly enjoyed cooking for and spending time with his family. Mr. Poole is survived by his wife Sebelle von Hafften Poole, daughter Alexandra Poole, two sons Carl Poole and Peter R. "Fletcher" Poole, Jr., younger brother James Poole and several cousins.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19th, 2015 from 10am to 12Noon at Halsted N. Gray – Carew & English, 1123 Sutter St., SF, followed by a Graveside Service at 1pm at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma, CA.
