We gather to celebrate the beautiful life of Maria Cleofe Abelardo, born on April 9, 1956, in the Philippines. The youngest of five siblings, Maria grew up surrounded by family and carried that deep sense of love and devotion throughout her life.
At just 19 years old, she married the love of her life, Benjamin Abelardo. Together they built a marriage grounded in faith, commitment, and unwavering devotion for 53 strong years. Maria made her home in Palm Springs and Cathedral City before retiring in San Jacinto, where she continued to share her warmth with all who knew her.
She was a loving and devoted mother to Kim and Karen, and a proud, adoring grandmother to Alex, Isabel, Aiden, and Devyn. Her grandchildren were among her greatest joys, filling her days with laughter and pride.
Throughout her 69 years, Maria touched countless lives with her kindness, compassion, and generous spirit. She found happiness in tending her garden, and she loved to dance and sing, bringing light and energy wherever she went. Her home was always welcoming, her presence always comforting.
Though our hearts are heavy as we mourn her passing, we are grateful for the love she shared and the legacy she leaves behind—a legacy of family, warmth, and unwavering devotion. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.
