

Alicia Naranjo was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Alicia will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Alicia was born on March 1, 1930 at family's home in Churintzio, Michoacan, Mexico. She was the daughter of Moises Herrera and Natividad Quiroz. Alicia grew up in Churintzio, Michoacan.
Alicia was raised with eight siblings. She had four brothers, Rodolfo(deceased), Thomas(deceased), Ruben, and Moises, and four sisters, Angelina, Theresa, Margarita, and Juana. Alicia was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young girl, Alicia had a number of interests. Like most children, she enjoyed playing and making up games. She was curious about the world around her and was often eager to explore it. In her spare time she liked to play with dolls. However, to Alicia, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with her friends.
Always considered a “good” friend to those she knew, Alicia enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. While growing up, some of her best friends were Griselda Quiroz(her cousin), Aurora Perez, and Esther Alfaro. Later in life, she became friends with Mrs. Bravo and Helen.
On August 9, 1946 Alicia exchanged wedding vows with Roberto Mena Naranjo at La Paroquia de Churintzio of Churintzio, Michoacan. Empathic and loyal, Alicia was committed to making her new family happy.
Alicia worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Alicia was blessed with ten children, three daughters, Yolanda, Martha, and Rosalinda, and seven sons, Roberto, Pedro, Salvador, George, Jaime, Marcos, and Jose Luis. Another blessing for Alicia was the gift of 42 grandchildren. She was also blessed with 37 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.
Fortunately, Alicia enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Alicia worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was a housewife. Alicia always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Alicia enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were shopping and helping her husband at the ranch and gas station. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others. Alicia enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved her husband very much and wanted to be with him wherever he went to spend time with him. She was a wonderful cook and everyone loved her cooking.
Alicia’s faith was important to her. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church.
Alicia enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included Mexico and Hawaii.
Alicia was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. One of her favorites was Daisy, a mixed Chihuahua. They were best friends for 9 years.
Alicia passed away due to congestive heart failure on July 23, 2012 at home in San Jose, California. She was surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her children Roberto, Yolanda, Pedro, Salvador, Martha, Jaime, Rosalinda, George, Marcos, and Jose Luis. Services were held at Chapel of Roses of Oak Hill Funeral Home in San Jose, California. Alice was laid to rest in Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose, California.
Simply stated, Alicia was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Alicia leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Alicia Naranjo.
