Our doctor at O’Connor Hospital said she was a “squeaker” (meaning she was a small baby). This would play an important role in her developing personality.
She was a bright, playful child and at the time her Grandfather nicknamed her “babycakes”. This nickname did not stick but was fun never-the-less. Three and a half years later her brother Jimmy was born and immediately the two became “thick as thieves”. Anamaria nicknamed her brother “Tigger” and then “Tarzan” after seeing the animated Disney movie which featured a juvenile Tarzan character. This nickname also did not stick.
Anamaria attended Hacienda Elementary School, John Muir Middle and Archbishop Mitty High School where she excelled at all three schools despite almost always being the smallest in her class. We think this may have made Anamaria try harder throughout her life.
Her love of Japanese Anime, Archie comics, reading and writing in general, film, television, music, and pop culture led her to apply and be accepted to Emerson College in Boston. There she would continue her passion for writing, help fellow students with their film productions, proofread papers for friends, and served her work study in the Financial Aid Office. She had fun “storming the castle”. Anamaria graduated from Emerson with a Bachelor’s Degree in Writing, Literature and Publishing with a Minor in Art History and a second Minor in Comedy.
After deciding she was a “California Girl”, she moved to Pasadena in an attempt to pursue her passion for writing. Landing a job in the entertainment industry is tough, especially for a person who loathes competition. She was a good writer, and she knew it, but those dreams would have to wait.
After taking a few temp jobs, she was hired at Jess S. Morgan and Company (a business entertainment consultant) as a receptionist. Recognizing her own potential, Anamaria worked hard, took on additional responsibilities, and after a merger with Ground Control Business Management/NFP was promoted to Bookkeeper/Junior Account Manager. This was ironic since Anamaria always seemed to have a dislike for math.
While in Pasadena, Anamaria reconnected with her former classmate from Emerson, Scott Carney. The two shared a passion for all things related to the entertainment industry, pop culture and comedy. After falling in love, they moved in together and settled in Sherman Oaks, California. After only a few years of love and a lifetime of happiness Anamaria passed away on September 20, 2024. She had just turned 28. Anamaria loved her parents, her brother, Grandmother and all her relatives in Texas. Spending time with family and friends, cooking, knitting, going to Disneyland, and attending movies screenings and concerts were her favorite pastimes. She was also a collector of Disney pins, Japanese comics, and CD/DVDs. And the Raiders were her football team!
Anamaria is preceded in death by her Great Grandmother Victoria Ochoa, her Grandfather Jim Falcone Sr. and her Grandparents from Texas Joe and Josie Galindo.
She is survived by her Grandmother Frances Falcone, Mother and Father Janie and Jim Falcone, Brother Jimmy Falcone, Aunts, Uncles, and many Cousins throughout California, Arizona, Texas and the US.
