I would like to extend my deepest sympathy and condolences to the Hermosillo Family ,  To Hank , I’m so sorry to hear about your brother Andrew’s passing .  My prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time . 
I had several chances of working with him and he’s such a nice and kind co-worker , giving me tips and pointers to perform my duties well ,  very humble and quite unassuming , and learning now his life history , I’m so humbled and honored to have met and known as well as worked with a great man . Thank you Andrew for your friendship .  May you Rest Forever In Peace In God’s Paradise . 

I worked with Andrew as an usher for the downtown San Jose Theaters.  It was a pleasure working with him.  He was truly a gentleman with a wonderful warm smile.  He will be missed.  May he rest in God's peace.

Andrew and I met when I started working as an usher downtown.  As we both kind of grew up in the valley, our conversations were about  working in the fields of Santa Clara Valley.  When I told him that I worked for my Uncle Jim Caviglia in his pear orchards, his eyes lit up, and he told me that he worked for him as well. Back in the day, before my days of work , Andrew said that he was one of a few people that knew how to irrigate an orchard( my uncle had 100 acres of Cherries on Hollenbeck Ave in Sunnyvale at the time), and my uncle hired him on the spot.  From then on , we exchanged stories of working in the cherry and pear orchards of the valley.

I worked with Andrew for many years in the downtown venues and he was always so positive and easy to be around. I will never forget that mustache!!!

Thank you Andrew for your help and guidance - as a new usher then,  Andrew was very caring and attentive so that I may perform my duties correctly. He was my partner usher for a few times and found him to be helpful and also a wonderful story teller - great personality.

So sad, but Andrew had quite a long and amazing life. We worked parcel check together several times and I learned so much about his long and eventful life. He was quite the globetrotter! He told me about his childhood and his Father, who was a Choirmaster and Composer in the Catholic Church and that all his Brothers and Sisters learned a musical instrument growing up. 

   I learned from him that he and his Brother Hank irrigated the Johnson Ranch Orchards in Cupertino, where eventually the house we lived in, was built after WWII. When I interviewed with Hank I heard some of the same stories and learned that he and Andrew were Brothers.

   He worked up at the Permanente mines/plant in the hills at the end of Steven's Creek, shoveling coal for the boilers. My Grandfather worked there as well. 

   I met first met Andrew at his post Guarding the glass doors at the Civic several years before I started working for TSJ.

He was one cool old dude and will be missed.

Uncle Andrew had a wonderful sense of humor. I have so many fond memories. One specific memory he paid me a whole 25 cents to take a bite and chew one of his hot peppers 🌶. It wasn’t worth a hundred dollars but we laughed together for many years later. Miss you Tio. You are loved and missed. 

Tia and cousins, I'm sorry for your loss. I am praying for you all and I look forward to seeing my Tio again some day. I know he's up there in Heaven with my dad and all of his other loved ones. I hope we can all get together after the pandemic so we can have a true Hermosillo celebration of life.  Much love to you all.
