Angela Rapisarda

Angela Rapisarda, aged 97 of San Jose, entered into eternal rest on December 22, 2022. Born June 18, 1925 in Trecastagni, Sicily to Alfio Fichera and Zappala Grazia. She had three siblings, Charlie, Anna and Maria. It was in her small town that Angela became a talented seamstress, designing and sewing anything from a simple dress to an elaborate wedding gown. Seeking a better life, she left Italy at the age of 31, making the cross Atlantic trip by boat, finally arriving in New York in 1956, and then traveling to Lawrence, Massachusetts to be with relatives.

Angela spent only a year in Lawrence before making the cross-country trip to California to stay with relatives in San Jose. In 1957, she was introduced to her soon-to-be husband, Dominic. After a brief courtship, they married on April 4, 1957 and remained married for 51 years, until his death in 2008. Their first son, Dominic Jr, was born in March, 1958. Only 15 months later, their second son, Fred, arrived. They also had a third child, Grace, who entered into eternal rest shortly after birth.

Angela is survived by her two sons, Dominic and Fred, daughter-in-law Debbie of San Jose, daughter-in-law Linda of Los Gatos, loving sister Maria Mosto, along with grandchildren Lauren Rapisarda, Alex Rapisarda and Brandi Chavez and nieces and nephews.

The funeral mass will be private with interment to follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park, San Jose.
