

Avelino Duarte was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Avelino will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Avelino was born on May 8, 1933 at at home in Caurio de Guadalupe, Michoacan, Mexico. He was the son of Jose Duarte and Petra Guzman. Avelino grew up in Caurio de Guadalupe, Michoacan, Mexico. Avelino was raised with eight siblings. He had six sisters, Elodia, Rita, Maria Elena, Enriqueta, Josefina and Ema and two brothers Amador and Antonio.
As a young boy, Avelino had a number of interests. Avelino was an active child who took part in basketball. However, to Avelino, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with his friends.
On November 25, 1956 Avelino exchanged wedding vows with Catalina at Iglesia de Guadalupe of Caurio de Guadalupe, Michoacan, Mexico. Empathic and loyal, Avelino was committed to making his new family happy.
Avelino worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Avelino was blessed with five children, four daughters: Ana, Lupe, Edith, and Cati and one son, Avelino. Another blessing for Avelino was the gift of thirteen grandchildren Javier, Patricia, Cristina, Cecilia, Edith, Lupita, Joel, Gaby, Julian, Joaquin, Marco, Sophia, and Sienna and eight great grandchildren Valerie, Naomi, Emily, Arianna, Daveena, Chloé, Bryan, Aleena, and Cataleya.
Showing a strong work ethic, Avelino worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was carpenter and custodian. He was employed for 26 years by Universal, Freitec Services, and Sir Thomas. Avelino always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Avelino found pleasure in sports. Recreational sports included basketball. Avelino was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he had the chance to do so. Tops on his list were baseball, basketball, and wrestling.
In June 1, 1998, Avelino retired in San Jose, California.
Avelino passed away on February 5, 2016 at his residence from a massive heart attack. He is survived by his children Ana, Lupe, Avelino, Edith, and Cati. His thirteen grandchildren Javier, Patricia, Cristina, Cecilia, Edith, Lupita, Joel, Gaby, Julian, Joaquin, Marco, Sophia, and Sienna. And nine great grand children Valerie, Naomi, Emily, Arianna, Daveena, Chloé, Bryan, Aleena, and Cataleya. Services were held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Avelino was laid to rest in Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Simply stated, Avelino was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Avelino leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Avelino Duarte.
