Claire always enjoyed driving over the hill to Half Moon Bay and getting lunch at Barbara's Fish Trap. She introduced me to one of her favorites, calamari.

A fun road trip up highway 101 from Claire’s home in San Jose to my home in Wilsonville OR.

On one trip to visit me in OR, Claire and Cathy wanted to go zip lining. I was too chicken to join them in that activity but I did enjoy the drive and watching them.

Visiting Cathy in Tennessee, we went to this very “cool” cave that had a lake at the bottom. We actually went on a boat ride on the lake and saw lots of trout! The lake is actually stocked and the fish are fed or they wouldn’t find anything to eat.

I think this was taken at Sequoia National Park as we were driving home from visiting Mary Anne.

My dear friend, Claire was a very caring, kind, thoughtful, generous and loving person. I loved spending time with her. She had a great sense of humor, was always ready for some fun or willing to help with anything. Some of our favorite activities together were traveling, eating and shopping! One of my favorite and more recent memories was the trip we made to visit our friend, Cathy Parrish in Tennessee. 

Remembering Claire’s love for life, family and friends, as well as her love for home, traveling and nature is heart warming. I am deeply grateful for her friendship of many years; her help through difficult times, the fun of celebrations, our trips together and the early days of camping with friends from Sequoia Hospital. I will always love and remember her.

Claire Bea and I have had a LONG history.  She went to the same church ( St. Timothy's) in San Mateo. We went to SMHS and of course SJSU. She was my roomie in college @ Waffle Towers. We lived on the 13th floor with 3 rooms in the suite and our own bathroom. Because of my brother and boyfiriend at that time she met her future husband Don on the 12th floor. My longest friend Bev and I were part of her wedding party. We had a break; however, high school reunions brought us back together. She and Bev were sisters to me.  I will miss her at our luncheons hashing over our pass history  and trying to  remember details.

We all knew each other through our children’s grammar school Noble. We were all together since kindergarten. We always had great times together even out of school. Claire and I were the oldest Kindergarten moms and we would laugh when folks would think we were the grandparents.  In this day and age  people have children later and later which is the norm.  We loved Thursdays at Noble School, it was early day and most of the time we moms with the kids would go to lunch together.  Claire was loving mom and wonderful to our children as well.  She will be missed by so many.
