Mr. Brillante was born on November 2, 1921 in Paniqui, Tarlac, Philippines. He was the youngest son of the late Regino and Isabel Brillante. He attended Adamson University in the Philippines in 1939. Mr. Brillante was a World War II veteran in the Philippine Army where he served as a Lieutenant. He was very proud of his service and told many stories of his bravery. After his discharge, he was employed by the Municipality of Paniqui, as a Chief of Police, in the early 1950s. He married the late Aurelia Adi Tomas; together they had nine (9) children.
He came to the United States as a contract farm worker in 1957. He returned to the Philippines and then immigrated to the United States as a permanent resident in 1969, becoming a citizen soon after. He continued working on many farms in the Salinas Valley. In the late seventies the family moved from Salinas to San Jose where Mr. Brillante worked at FMC as a maintenance technician, from which he retired in the late eighties.
Mr. Brillante was very kind, and had a generous and loving heart; he was always giving to others. He was a hard worker that made many sacrifices for his family. He dearly loved all twelve (12) of his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid gardener with a particular love for roses that was shared by his late wife, Aurelia.
He leaves his loving memories to his children: Stanley, Winston, Hazel, Larry, Jerry, Nelson, Edwin, Judee, and James; sons- and daughters-in-law Eva, Cristita, Danilo, Monica, Maria, Zenaida, Leizel, Michael, and Theresa; grandchildren: Neil, Rodney and his wife, Miranda, Sarah and her husband, Robert, Danielle, Sheena, Janelle, Kelvin, Zelwyn, Halee, Winzel, Althea, and Marcus.
