Darrell Tien

Darrell was born on October 30, 1964, in My Tho, Vietnam. He was the eighth of nine children. He and his family left Vietnam following the Vietnam War, spending some time in a Malaysian refugee camp before settling in San Jose, California. He married his wife Janet in 1988. Darrell worked at L.P. Glassblowers until he was diagnosed with cancer in 2004. He enjoyed woodworking and assembled his own workshop at home. An accomplished ping pong player, Darrell grew up playing and winning in tournaments with his brothers.

Darrell is survived by his wife Janet, his daughter Cheryl, and his son Derek.
