

David is preceded in death by his wife of 30 Years Nancy Malan, brother Keith Thomas, sisters Jeanette Humphries & Anita Pierce, sons Ronald T. Malan & Theodore Nelson.
He is survived by his younger sister Virginia Baker, sons Michael Malan, Keith Malan, Tim Nelson & Tom Nelson daughters Jodi Nichols, Julie Kuster & Tammy Nelson & 22 grandchildren.
David was born in Ogden Utah, graduated from Ogden High School, served in the Air Force January 1949 – October 1952, got his Engineering Degree in 1971. Spent his career as an engineer until he was 88 years old. Credited for designing the first electronic cash register system (IMS), automotive speed radar gun & police mobile terminal (Kustom).
A visitation for David will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. A final viewing will occur Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. A funeral service will occur Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. A committal service will occur Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. A reception will occur Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125.
